Leader: Kay Eggleton
The United Methodist Women is an organized group of women dedicated to mission work, both in the local church and beyond, in the community, the nation, and the world. Technically, any woman who is a member of the United Methodist Church is a member of UMW. The First United Methodist Church of Durant has four organized circles, small study/fellowship groups who meet monthlySeptember through May. There are also five General Meetings during the year where all members of the circles and "members at large" are invited to join together for a meeting and often a meal. Programs there are to inform about how UMW is affecting the lives of Women and Children locally and throughout the world.
UMW supports state, national and international work with its "pledge to missions" We also support Conference and Ardmore District projects as well as several local missions including the Crisis Control Center, Bryan Co. Pregnancy Center and Families Feeding Families.
