Staff
John sees the goal of ministry as helping people come to know Christ and grow so that every part of life is lived in relationship to Christ. Prior to Durant, John served churches in Eufaula, Beaver and Helena, OK, as well as Mt. Vernon and Platte Woods, MO. He is a graduate of Oral Roberts University and Perkins School of Theology. He earned the Doctor of Ministry Degree from Asbury Theological Seminary.
John's wife, Nancy Breon, has taught music in elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as working in a variety of other positions. The Breons are the parents of three children: Rachel Myers and her husband Zach, Eric Breon, and Eli Breon.
Rev. Dewey has come to us from a vast background of ministry settings. He graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene College in Mt. Vernon, Ohio with his Bachelor's in Religious Studies/Philosophy. Upon graduation, he began his seminary studies at Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland, Ohio. He graduated in 1991 with a Masters in Biblical Studies/Leadership. He has pastored two churches in Ohio, planted a church in Missouri, served as Habitat for Humanity Director, jumpstarted a Christian camp, and pastored a church in Oklahoma before joining our staff. With four grand children and one step-grandson, he values family. His ministry gifts compliment the team at First United Methodist. He will be working with adult ministry, as well as working with the educational needs of the church. He is happy to minister God's grace to all.
Robert Pierce comes to us with a great background in ministry. With him at the helm of our youth ministry and worship band, great things will continue to happen to the glory of God.

Kay has blessed the ministry of First United Methodist Church for several years. She is presently our Financial Secretary. She has voluteered to be the Tower Editor.
